  15. Monster Garage: HIRE THIS MAN! Imagine what he could do with a fully equipped shop and an ample supply of raw materials. Seriously, guys… he took a motor, some stray parts and whatever he could get his hands on and built a MOTORCYCLE. Sure, it’s a BUTT-UGLY motorcycle, but still… Probably didn’t cost hims a dime!

  17. That’s somewhere in Europe. No way that’s Alabama.

  23. From a comment on Make magazine’s website:

“My name is Mathias and I come from “good ol´ Germany”. The Wood Motorcycle on the Picture is made by me. The Build takes about 9 months. Like a child :-) It´s a Honda CB250 RS engine with 22 Horsepowers inside. It´s enough for a topspeed from over 75mph.

  25. This photo is a fake. I have seen it over the internet numerous times. As humorous as it is, It is not Alabama. In fact, it’s not even the United States. The “Roll Tide” sign has been digitally added, which is very obvious. The license plate on front of the car in the background is not the correct shape to be from the U.S., not to mention that Alabama does not require a state license plate on the front of vehicles. Those particular VW cars are not even available in the U.S. The styles of architecture and stone streets are not consistent with American architecture. This photo probably originates from Europe or Russia.

  27. *yawn*

Very old pic that’s been circling the internet for years. – And clearly not from Alabama, much less the USA. Unless of course American cars have started sporting european license plates and euro-spec auto parts on VW Vento’s (Jetta).

this site is a major fail, most all rehashed stuff from bulletin boards that have been floating around the ‘net for a decade. Stick with your POWM site guys, do what you know.

  28. skinnyfatboy on January 25th, 2010
  29. for the record thats a golf in the background. while im not saying this is taken in america (because its not) the vw is available here. or was since it looks like a 3rd generation.

  31. Why in the hell do all of you negative fuckers just have to bash everything you see. This is a fun place to come to and why in the hell can’t you just relax a little bit and try to have some fun while you are here. Relax and take a deep breath and try to smile it won’t hurt and you may just like it……. Later we just may start working on laughter remember that silly thing you used to do….

  33. Hey KP? Are you implying that the rest of the world, IE: Europe, does not exist? That stuff like, oh… Russia is actually a back lot set in Hollywood?
“Oh, that’s fake. It was taken in Europe or Russia.”
The bike, such as it is, exists. Does it run? Don’t know. We have no pictures of the owner/builder riding it. COULD it run? Quite probably. Would I ride it? HELL NO! Do I think it’s pretty amazing, just as a feat of building? HELL YEAH, especially if it actually RUNS, even as a gag!
Ever seen the pics of the worlds largest V-TWIN, built in Australia by a guy who sawed a slice off a busted Rolls Royce Merlin engine out of a P-51 Mustang? IT RAN, bro… crazy to look at, but the sumbitch RAN…
WHERE it exists does not matter. It EXISTS, a triumph of human ingenuity and silliness.

  34. Mike on January 26th, 2010
  35. Yeah, I think it’s even better from Europe. And that has to be the most bad ass thing ever. I would date this guy and try to get in on the project with paint, carvings and such. Hellz yeah.

  37. I used to have a wooden car – it wooden start

  38. Jason on January 28th, 2010
  39. There’s no way that pic is legit. First, Alabama doesn’t place license plates on the front of the car. Second, the Alabama banner is a poorly done edit to the photo. If you ask me, it looks like something a fat, beer drinking, biker, USC fan would ride with his fat old lady on the back.

  40. Jeff on February 2nd, 2010
  41. Well, if it was for real, and if it ran, then it wood be a heavy mutha to drive when it rained and got wet!

    Ya know?
