I remember seeing that rig in a magazine years ago, was said to combine a motorhome and a sport cruiser into one outfit. It was definitely a factory made item. Very cool if this is still around and in use today, would like to find out what it is called.
Land yacht! Good for roads, or water. Add a tread for off road possibilities and a rotating blade like a helicopter, and you have a true all purpose vehicle. Add some machine guns, cannons, rpg launchers, and you have one MEAN all purpose vehicle. Bring it ON, WWIII!!
Hundreds of hours of very high quality workmanship. Many thousands of dollars and they got this result. This FUGLY POS would induce SUICIDAL thoughts when people giggled as they passed by.
If this is just a boat hauler they should have bought a nicer looking boat to match the truck to… If this is some sort of idiotic custom crap that doesn’t have a boat in it then I do not like.
Hey, what’s more American than a Boaterhome? Just 21 were made back in ’86 by Sport King. The Econoline-based rig functioned as an RV on land, but when you got to the lake–plop! You can unload your boat in under two minutes without having to get out of your vehicle! Oh wait, I think you have to get out of your vehicle to get into the boat. Darn it. See the ad on Hemmings!
Question: What do you get when a Ford Econoline and a luxury yacht have sex?
Answer: This monstrosity…

It’s a Econoline, no it’s a Stingray, no it’s the Econo-ray 85. This half boat, Half van will get you where you need to go no matter what the terrain.
Does the back detach and work as a boat? That would be complex, but it kind of looks like it does.
Actually, looking close it this, it appears to be a CUSTOM-BUILT truck to match & haul the guy’s boat! NEAT!

It’s a real, factory made vehicle called the Boaterhome. Look it up sometime. http://boaterhome.org/
I would love to see if this thing actually floats. Otherwise it’s just another poser-mobile.
i think it is a limo, and the back deck has a jacuzzi.
I saw a blue one at a boat show in the 80′s
as mentioned above, it is the boaterhome.
@Sam Phillips: Great homework Sam! Cool site you linked. Thanx!
This is no new idea…
