@Handlebar – Looking at it that way, you’re right, it takes an experienced welder/fabricator a lot of time to do something like that, but with it being in Canada, I’ll bet that the owner can only drive it a few months out of the year!!
To quote Samual Morse in the punniest way possible… “What hath god wrought?”
Also, I totally dig the suicide doors… and the suicide everything else… Surely the driver would be squished like a bug if there was ever a collision in this car. I’d drive it but would much rather drive something with an actual floor and some fender wells to prevent rocks and mud flying into my eyes.
Just so happens I drove next to this car at the woodward dream cruise this year. I talked to the two girls who built it and it only took them five months to do all that welding and fabricating.
That thing is Awesome!
Cool! Takes a person with much experiance to do that…….and get it right!
Ya know?
It’s kinda stupid but it’s also a little cool because it’s like a cross-section.
This is the first VW Beetle I’ve ever seen that I would actually like to drive.
The Beetle Club is smitten, no doubt. Pretty creative!
Doesn’t need to wash it often, but dressing for the weather is Really important.

Very Cool…until you get into an accident- ouch!
Unusual, but NICELY done.
DEFINITELY a “warm-climate-only” car, though; it doesn’t even need AC!
funny, i thought it was “wrought iron”
They spent a lot of time in the garden, but what they really wanted to do was drive around. I dig the foam rubber seats.
